Purpose of Peer Review

The peer review process at IJCRL ensures the academic quality, originality, and integrity of all published works. Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining scholarly standards and providing constructive feedback to authors.

Reviewer Responsibilities

As a reviewer, you are expected to:

  • Conduct an objective, fair, and confidential evaluation
  • Assess the manuscript solely based on its scholarly merit
  • Provide constructive, actionable feedback to improve the quality of the work
  • Identify ethical concerns such as plagiarism, data manipulation, or conflicts of interest
  • Submit your review within the agreed timeframe (typically 2–4 weeks)

Review Criteria

Reviewers should assess the following elements:

  1. Originality and Relevance
    • Does the manuscript offer new insights or a unique perspective?
    • Is it aligned with the scope and focus areas of IJCRL?
  1. Title and Abstract
    • Is the title concise, accurate, and reflective of the content?
    • Does the abstract summarize key points effectively?
  1. Introduction and Literature Review
    • Does the introduction clearly state the research question or problem?
    • Is the literature review comprehensive, relevant, and up-to-date?
  1. Methodology / Theoretical Framework
    • Is the research design or theoretical grounding appropriate?
    • Are methods clearly explained and justified?
  1. Findings / Analysis
    • Are the results clearly presented and logically analyzed?
    • Are figures/tables (if any) relevant and properly interpreted?
  1. Discussion and Conclusion
    • Are the conclusions supported by the findings?
    • Does the discussion reflect critical thinking and broader implications?
  1. Use of Language and Clarity
    • Is the manuscript well-written, coherent, and free from major language issues?
  1. References
    • Are references accurate and formatted in Chicago Style
    • Is the bibliography sufficiently comprehensive?

Ethical Considerations

Reviewers must:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Avoid personal biases or conflicts of interest
  • Report any suspected ethical issues (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication)

Recommendation Options

Reviewers will be asked to choose one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
  • Reject (not suitable for publication)

  • Reviews should be submitted through the IJCRL review platform or via the secure review form sent by the editorial office.
  • Please provide both summary comments for the editor and detailed comments for the author (anonymous).
