Abstract

The technological world of electrical engineering fueled by electromagnetic fields is intricately intermeshed with their understanding and manipulation among its threads. Mathematical modeling, the heart of this discipline, is a powerful tool that enables engineers to analyze and predict, as well as optimize, the behavior of electromagnetic phenomena in different applications. Mathematical models form the core of innovation and progress in this field; they underlie design of high efficient electric motors, the creation of breakthrough communication systems, and many other important products. The subject of mathematical modeling as it pertains to electromagnetic fields in electrical engineering is complex, and yet, in this comprehensive exploration we focus primarily on it. I will walk us through the fundamentals, highlight various applications, and lay claim to the most emerging new developments that are giving birth to this dynamic field’s future.
